Tactile Distance

Taking as a starting point my research on the growth and the uncontrolled spread of some crustaceans on the Peruvian coast due to climate change, Tactile distance seeks to delve into the idea of ​​spreading, placing myself in the context in which we live and how is the spreading of this virus in relation to us and how modify our movements changing our interactions and the idea of ​​contact.

Contact as this space between us that is something important to see and how that emptiness begins to massify like a nowhere that lives between us and makes us feel vulnerable.

The project explores these new movements that we have, as a blockage of our old movements and also explores these new ways of touching. Talks about that intangible distance in which in these sculptures I try to make it tangible through a series of tools that can be used to play in this new way.

The pieces are made of bee wax which is a natural material and makes me work in collaboration with bees and also have this vulnearable character that can melt an change their shapes.

//Distancia Táctil

​

Distancia táctil parte inicialmente de una investigación sobre el crecimiento descontrolado de algunos crustáceos en el litoral peruano, llegando a la conclusión que es ocasionado por el cambio climático.

​

En el proyecto encontré una relación de cómo es el esparcimiento de estos crustáceos que modifican el paisaje e incluso nuestras interacciones en las playas y en la ó pesca, con el esparcimiento del Covid-19 el cuál modifica nuestros movimientos, por lo tanto también nuestras interacciónes con los demás, cambiando la idea de cómo tener contacto. El contacto tomado cómo éste espacio entre nosotrsos que es importante de ver y cómo éste vacío se masifica como una nada que vive entre nosotros y nos hace sentir vulnerables.

El proyecto explora estos nuevos moviemientos a través de una serie de inmovilizadores realizados con cera de abeja, material el cuál habla de cierta vulnerabilidad y fragilidad, también explora éstas nuevas formas de tocar a través del desarrollo de una serie de utensilios que motivan a volver a tocar.

​

Las piezas están hechas de cera de abeja, material que proviene de la naturaleza, que me permitió trabajar en colaboración con abejas. Material que tiene éste carácter vulnerable al poder ser derretido y moldeado por el tiempo en diferentes formas.
